The essence of a kaleidoscope is its interior image. Whether the object cell is dry or oil-filled, the visual symmetry created by the mirrors and objects is the mesmerizing aspect of all kaleidoscopes.

Below are some examples of kaleidoscope interiors. As you'll see, kaleidoscopes have progressed far beyond their initial offerings of bits of glass and a simple 2-or 3-mirror configuration.
