Luc's education in the sciences together with his woodworking and glass skills lend precision and innovation to their award-winning kaleidoscopes. Sallie contributes her painting, calligraphy and graphic arts skills to their work, and son Noah, who put in his appearance in 1995, adds the crown jewel to their joint venture.
Working together in the magical world of kaleidoscopes in their own little bit of Pacific Northwest
"utopia wetlands," the Durettes are following a fortune cookie suggestion, "Set your sights high and
go for it." With two creeks, ten bridges, hundreds of rhododendrons, and numerous horticultural delights
on their property, it is no wonder they have chosen Secret Garden Kaleidoscopes for their company name. Luc and
Sallie agree that, "Through our work we hope to provide others with a tool that can be used in the external
world to reach that vast and glorious garden within."
