Peggy and Steve Kittleson greet life with a smile, In fact, it would be a rare moment
indeed to find either one of them without a smile. Their happy expression springs from
an inner source of spiritual heritage as well as their enthusiasm for living. Life on an
Iowa farm keeps them attuned to the flora and fauna that they lovingly infuse into their
kaleidoscopes.
Singing and baking are two of Peggy's favorite non-scope activities, and Steve opts for
reading or spending time with family and friends in his off -hours. But most of their time
is spent designing and perfecting their award-winning kaleidoscopes. Fused glass is the
main medium for both the barrels and cell objects of their collectible pieces. Peggy's
tiny torch-worked flowers rank among the most beautiful objects of all to be viewed
through a kaleidoscope.
Revealing their metaphysical connection with scopes, Peggy insists that, "Kaleidoscope
images are like precious moments in time that we must cherish, because once they are gone,
we can never get them back." Steve adds, "They are also like people - they come in a
wide variety of exteriors but only by looking inside do you see the true beauty unfolding."
